Meloxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used in dogs and cats to reduce the inflammation and pain of joint diseases and muscle injuries in dogs. It also aids in reducing fever. In cats it may be used to reduce pain after surgery. Contact your veterinarian if your dog or cat experiences depression, loss of appetite, diarrhea, an increase in drinking and/or urination, jaundice (e.g., yellowing of the gums, skin, or whites of the eyes), vomiting, bloody or black stools, incoordination, pale gums, shedding, hot spots, increased respiration (fast or heavy breathing), or behavior changes while being treated with meloxicam. Do NOT give with other NSAIDs (e.g., aspirin, etodolac (EtoGesic), deracoxib (Deramaxx), carprofen (Rimadyl)) or steroids (e.g., prednisone, prednisolone, dexamethasone, triamcinolone). There is a greatly increased risk of stomach ulcers if used with these medications. NOTE: Do NOT use etodolac, deracoxib or carprofen in cats. Do NOT use aspirin in cats unless specifically prescribed by your veterinarian. It can be toxic.

Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets.
