Piroxicam is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatoy drug (NSAID) that also has anti-tumor properties. It is most often used in dogs for the treatment of certain types of cancers, especially a bladder cancer called transitional cell carcinoma. Contact your veterinarian if your dog experiences depression, loss of appetite, diarrhea, vomiting, constipation, bloody or black stools, an increase in drinking and/or urination, jaundice (e.g., yellowing of the gums, skin, or whites of the eyes), incoordination, seizures, behavior changes, lethargy, shedding, hot spots while being treated with piroxicam. Use with extreme CAUTION in cats. Do not give with other NSAIDs (e.g., aspirin, etodolac (EtoGesic), deracoxib (Deramaxx), meloxicam (Metacam), carprofen (Rimadyl)); or steroids (e.g., prednisone, prednisolone, dexamethasone, triamcinolone). There is a greatly increased risk of stomach ulcers if used with these medications. NOTE: Do NOT use etodolac, deracoxib or carprofen in cats. Do NOT use aspirin in cats unless specifically prescribed by your veterinarian. It can be toxic.

Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets.
