Q. What is an NSAID?
 
A. NSAID is the acronym for 'non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug.' These are medications used in dogs to reduce inflammation, but are not in the class of drugs known as steroids. Most of these medications can NOT be used in cats because they are toxic to cats. Consult your veterinarian before using any of these medications in cats. Most of these medications also provide some pain relief. Examples include:
