This condition is seen in dogs that possess a coat of two or three colors. This condition is
inherited and can be seen in any dog, crossed or purebred with the above coloration. Bassett Hounds, Papillons, and Schipperkes, among others, have been noted. The result is hair loss in the pigmented black or dark-haired areas of the young puppy. The hair loss progresses until the colored spots become bald. There is no treatment for this inherited condition.
