Lisinopril is in the class of drugs called ACE inhibitors. It dilates the veins and decreases fluid retention. It is used for the treatment of heart failure, high blood pressure, and certain types of heart valve disease. It may also be used to treat some types of chronic renal failure. Do not abruptly start or stop this medication without approval by your veterinarian. Treatment is normally continued for the duration of the animal's life. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences loss of appetite, vomiting, diarrhea, increased thirst and/or changes in urination, weakness, a slow heart rate, or a weak pulse while being treated with lisinopril. It is important your pet does not become dehydrated while taking lisinopril. Make sure your pet has access to clean drinking water while taking this medication.

Keep this and all other medications out of the reach of children and pets.
