Q. What is the right age that a kitten should be adopted?

A. An orange and white kittenIn general, kittens should not leave their mother and littermates until they are at least 9 weeks of age. Some breeders do not allow the kittens to leave their mother until they are 10-12 weeks of age. Until they are 9 weeks of age, kittens are learning a lot from the interactions with their mother and littermates. It is extremely important, however, for the kittens to also have human contact during their first weeks of life.
